Construction of the Holocene Sunset Crater cinder cone was interrupted by effusion of the Bonito lava flow at the west base of the cone. A portion of the cone, including this agglutinate mound was rafted away. This mound is about 30 feet (10 meters) in height. The cinder cone stratigraphy is still apparent in the mound.
