The subhorizontal Rawhide detachment fault, a Miocene low-angle normal fault, is here approximately horizontal. The fault places tilted and deformed Paleozoic and Tertiary sedimentary rocks over mylonitic gneiss and chloritic breccia, and has about 40 miles of top-ENE displacement at this location.
