Just north of Cameron, Arizona, adjacent to US 89A you'll encounter badlands topography. Badlands are hosted in mudstones in the Lower Triassic Chinle Formation. These soft sedimentary rocks are weathered to clay-rich soils and sculpted by wind and water into the hummocky badlands landscape. Slippery when wet!
