Strawberry Crater, Coconino County | Sidewall collapse in the breached section of the ~ 50,000 year old Strawberry Crater cinder cone, San Francisco volcanic field. Towards the end of its eruptive life, a lava flow broke out at the east base of the cone disrupting and rafting off part of the cinder cone interior. The result: a breached cinder cone prone to slumping of interior layers. The geologists in the lower left were part of a larger group exploring “Volcanism in the American Southwest.” From the US Geological Survey: Geologic and geochemical analysis of the Strawberry Crater area, Coconino County, Arizona - https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/Prodesc/proddesc_7112.htm
