Bear Canyon, Santa Catalina Mountains, Tucson, AZ | Debris flow scar in Bear Canyon from debris flows that occurred in July 2006. Hillslope soil and sediment was stripped down to bedrock by debris flows at many locations throughout the Santa Catalinas following days of heavy rain. Note the person for scale at the bottom of the chute and the size of the adjacent boulders.
