This rock is exposed along the Tanque Verde Trail of Tanque Verde Ridge, Rincon Mountains, Saguaro National Park - East, Tucson, Arizona. The Rincon Mountains are part of a metamorphic core complex, accounting for the extreme stretching and deformation of mineral constituents of this mylonitized metamorphic gneiss.
