In 2000, the remains of a Therizinosuar, a sickle-claw dinosaur, were discovered in marine sediments comprising the Cretaceous Tropic Shale.
According to author David Gillette (Museum of Northern Arizona), the remains belong to "A misnamed giant among giants, a bizarre member of a misunderstood and misplaced family, bearing claws on the hand recalling Edward Scissorhands." You can see additional illustrations and photographs of the fossil location, and learn David's explanation for dinosaur remains found in marine sediments. http://www.azgs.az.gov/arizona_geology/archived_issues/Summer_2007.pdf
