Stone work of a pre-historic Sinagua dwelling in the scalloped cliffs of the Permian-age Kaibab Limestone of Walnut Canyon Monument, northern Arizona.
The Sinagua took advantage of an overhang in the Permian Kaibab Limestone to build dwellings above the stream that flow(ed) through Walnut Canyon. See John Bezy's 'A Guide to the Geology of the Flagstaff area' (2003) for more on the three national monuments near Flagstaff, including Walnut Canyon. http://repository.azgs.az.gov/uri_gin/azgs/dlio/1540
