In June 2006, the Brins wildfire raced through the Coconino National Forest north of Sedona, Arizona. Post-wildfire debris-flows choked local drainages with boulders and cobbles. The scorched ground is visible on this hillside where Tertiary basalt lava flows rest on Permian Coconino Sandstone.
