Bio
Lisa has a broad geological background in geologic mapping, cartography, GIS, volcanology, sedimentology, and teaching & pedagogy. Before joining the AZGS, she taught and mentored undergraduate students at Northern Arizona University in GIS, geologic field methods, geologic disasters, and volcanology. Lisa is deeply interested in studying all things related to volcanoes, particularly water/lava/sediment interactions in shallow marine, fluvial, and lacustrine depositional environments. As part of the Basin Analysis Research group at AZGS, she works on a variety of projects investigating the efficacy of carbon mineralization in mafic rocks and carbon dioxide and hydrogen storage in the deep subsurface.
