The Arizona Geological Survey is hiring one or more full-time Research Scientists within the mineral resources and bedrock geology section. This is an exciting opportunity for a field-oriented geologist interested in geologic mapping and mineral resource studies. The Research Scientist(s) will be responsible for assisting AZGS efforts in geologic mapping, economic geology, and/or data preservation efforts.

Relevant areas of interest include, but are not limited to: igneous/metamorphic petrology, physical volcanology, structural geology, economic geology, geochronology, geochemistry, and/or regional geology. The successful candidate(s) will participate in AZGS field investigations, develop and write proposals, and conduct office-based data compilation that will lead to the production of high-quality maps, reports, and presentations.

Review of applications will begin Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Interviews are expected to be held remotely between Wednesday, January 18, 2023 to Friday, January 20, 2023.
