Public Resources

Since 1915, the AZGS has published and disseminated 1000s of geologic maps and reports on the geology and geologic setting of Arizona. Nearly all these geologic products can be discovered and  freely recovered from our AZGS Online Document Repository.  For the mining professional, amateur prospectors and mining and industrial archaeologists, the AZGS Mining Data site includes more than 21,000 mine files, 1000s of geologic and mine maps, and more than 6,000 images.

The AZGS works closely with our scientific partners at the federal (e.g., US Geological Survey, Federal Emergency Management Agency) state (e.g., Arizona Dept. of Water Resources, Dept. of Emergency and Military Affairs), and with tribal, county, and local authorities and professional societies and local rockhounding and gem clubs to facilitate the dissemination of information of value to our stakeholders and constituents.

Our purpose here is to provide our stakeholders among the public, government, industry, and business with the geologic content they need for informing their decisions.
