• Quaternary landscape evolution
• Geologic hazards (faults, fissures, floods, landslides, sinkholes)
• Post-wildfire debris flows
• Early to Middle Triassic stratigraphy, geochronology, and vertebrate ichnology
• GIS digital mapping techniques, spatial analysis, cartography

Biography

Chad grew up in the Sonoran Desert and found a passion for geology among the canyons, creeks, pediments, and peaks of central Arizona. He is widely (and wildly) interested in Arizona geology, and more specifically in geomorphology and landscape evolution, geologic hazards, geochronology, GIS, and cartography. He has conducted fieldwork for a variety of projects related to geologic hazards in Arizona. Chad loves learning about our Earth and sharing the wonder with others through guided hikes and public presentations. In his free time, he enjoys skateboarding and exploring Arizona’s riparian wonderlands.
