Land Subsidence and Earth fissures in Arizona

oin AZGS Earth Fissure Program Manager Joe P. Cook describe “Earth Fissures and Land Subsidence in Arizona”. A virtual ZOOM presentation hosted by Bisbee’s Copper Queen Library.
An overview of the history of earth fissures in Arizona, their causes, associated hazards, and the outlook for the future. The presentation includes examples from throughout the state, but the focus will be on earth fissures in Cochise County, including some recent monsoon-related fissure reactivation and damage to roadways.

La presentación cubrirá una descripción general de la historia de las fisuras de la tierra, también conocidas como agrietamientos o grietas geológicas, en Arizona, sus causas, los peligros asociados y el panorama para el futuro.
