New study on carbon storage capacity of surficial mafic volcanic rocks

A new paper by AZGS Research Scientists Lisa Thompson (lead author), Tawnya Wilson (coauthor), and their collaborators discusses the potential for carbon storage from CO₂ mineralization in mafic volcanic rocks in Arizona. They estimate these rocks could store massive amounts of CO₂ and could help scale up carbon storage efforts worldwide. Read the paper here!
